Functional Medicine: A new and
emerging model of personalized medicine that uses natural supplements
and therapies based upon researched protocols. It’s a medical
approach designed to support and create health rather than only treat
symptoms.
Our
Specialty:
High cholesterol, thyroid, weight gain,
diseases of inflammation and insulin resistance are tied together in
vicious cycles. Our team identifies problems and provides support,
lifestyle and nutritional counseling, therapy, and ongoing, continuous
follow-up to unlock these vicious cycles, to correct and prevent disease
processes.
Why
We Are Different:
This model is based on fundamentally
different assumptions that the body is an interconnected whole and there
are predictable patterns of dysfunction that predispose a person to
illness. Structure and organ health need to be synchronized in
order to repair, replace, rebuild, and recalibrate. We acknowledge
that the healing process must be addressed in specific order of priority
to achieve optimal health
Little Known Fact: Your body
must be “healthy” enough to heal, versus heal to be healthy.
Myth About Aging: Feeling
bad and gaining weight is inevitable.
Best Advice: You are
your own best advocate. Do your homework—go to
www.wellnessalternatives-stl.com.
Proudest
Achievement:
To have my patients’ say, “I didn’t know I
could feel this good.”

Optimal health.
That is the reason Wellness Alternatives is here. We have an exceptional
team. We are here to evaluate, educate, treat, and support you. Our approach is comprehensive and balanced.
I am a RN
with 15 years of hospital experience and 5 years of medical business
management.
My specialty is critical care medicine. But here is what you
really should know... I am an average patient. I want to feel good when I
get out of bed. I want a positive attitude the whole day long. I want to be
confident that I am preventing future disease states. I want to control the
aging process. I am stressed, mid 40's, a mother concerned about the future
health of her children. I want to know where to go if I need help. I want
answers! I want choices! Does this sound familiar?
Almost
everyday I am asked how I "ended up on this side of the health care
spectrum..." from critical care nursing to alternative medicine. My answer
is always this...There are no sides. It is about our optimal health. At
Wellness Alternatives, we are scientific and offer alternative medicines and
protocols. Our team understands and treats the amazing human body in the way
it wants to respond. Our foundation is FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE. We offer tests
and consultations to evaluate your health. Our staff will educate you and
tell you why and how. Treatment plans and therapies are individualized with
follow ups. Everyone at Wellness Alternatives is here to support you.
I have the
great privilege to work with a wonderful team. I witness small miracles and big successes every
day. I see an improvement in the quality of life in our clients. I love what
we are doing! We are making a difference.
Dr. Linda Rodenbaugh
lrodenbaugh@wellnessalternatives-stl.com
Dr. Linda Rodenbaugh is a Nebraska native and moved to St. Louis in 2002. She is a medical professional, entrepreneur, a healer, and a single mom with an interesting journey bringing her to Wellness Alternatives. Previous to becoming a doctor, she owned and managed an herb store, home schooled her children and has also been a private tutor for ages toddler through adult for over 20 years.
Dr. Linda’s son, Seth, is who brought her to chiropractic. Seth started developing upper respiratory infections as an infant that steadily increased in duration and frequency. Soon he was diagnosed with allergies and was given weekly injections. Later, his physician reported that his problems had progressed to asthma and albuterol was velcroed to him as well as a breathing machine took up residency in their home. Throughout this 6-7 year progression, a friend kept suggesting that they seek chiropractic care. After about one year with chiropractic care, dietary changes, herbs and homeopathy, Seth had regained his health. Later, when Seth received his Purple Heart from injuries sustained whiled serving in Afghanistan, he amazed health professionals with his body’s healing abilities. Seth will be medically discharged from the army next month and is looking forward to getting care at Wellness Alternatives to further affect his body’s healing power and also can’t wait to get back to one of his favorite past times - rock climbing in the Rockies.
Brogan, Dr. Linda’s 2nd son, is a skateboard enthusiast who like all kids in extreme sports has had more than his share of broken bones. The manner is which his body heals is a testament to how preventative and healthy lifestyle choices and pro-active health care can influence the healing momentum of the body. Dr. Linda reports, “This kid has been breaking 2-3 bones per year and heals well. His traumatic stress events evidence the true healing capabilities of the body. All the high school athletes I went to school with have aching hips, knees, and low backs. I don’t want my son to face those issues. Because Brogan has been exposed to a healthy lifestyle, he heals well. As a mother, one of my issues is being certain that my children stay out of the inflamed state preventing arthritis and other health problems. We have the power to change the aging process and what Brogan has learned will carry him into his adult years as well as effect and empower his future family.”
Dr. Linda graduated from Logan University in 2006, where she received several recognitions and awards. These include the Chiropractic Science Basic Technique Award, Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, the United States Achievement Academy All-American Scholar, and a membership in the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. Dr. Linda also earned her pediatrics certification and her acupuncture certification while at Logan. Besides being part of the amazing Wellness Alternatives team, Dr. Linda teaches Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Law and Ethics, and Medical Terminology in the Medical Assisting Department at Missouri College.
Dr. Linda feels very privileged to be at Wellness Alternatives and to be part of such a positive successful professional team. After previous travels abroad to countries in South America and Europe, one of Dr. Linda’s goals is to bless a mission’s opportunity with her healing services. Dr. Linda finds great delight in helping others and looks forward to assisting people improve their health in our community and abroad.
Sharon Moehle, Ed.S. smoehle@wellnessalternatives-stl.com
Sharon Moehle, Ed.S. is a licensed Psychologist with over 20 years of mental health experience. She assists people in healing their emotional, physical, and mental health through a unique combination of biofeedback and talk therapy. Her training and work history has provided her experience and knowledge with a wide variety of clients and disorders. She provides traditional, individual, marital and family counseling services. She also specializes in Energy Psychology.
At the end of 2007 Sharon decided to move back to St. Louis so that she could help her aging parents and again be near family and friends. Sharon will be forever grateful that she did not move back to St. Louis any later. For a tragic accident occurred 9 months after she moved back. Her wonderful Father was run over by a pick up truck and almost every bone in his body was broken in at least one spot. He survived for 2 months and was almost completely recovered when he suddenly passed away.
Sharon is a St. Louis native. She lived in St. Louis until she moved to Columbia, Missouri to start her education at the University of Missouri. Sharon earned all of her degrees while in Columbia. Sharon started a successful private practice before she finished her studies. She counseled the general population and many people with Developmental Disabilities. She liked the Columbia area so much she bought a home with 15 acres of land. The setting was gorgeous it was as if she was living in a park, no neighbors, lots of wildlife and lots of fish.
After living in Columbia for 14 years Sharon got married and moved to Arizona. There she lived in a resort town on the breath taking Colorado River. She worked on an Indian Reservation at the Indian hospital. While there, she was promoted to Acting Director during tenure. Sharon worked with the general population. She worked with domestic violence, sexual abuse, and physical abuse survivors. She did crisis debriefing with officers of the law. She worked with inmates in the jail and with probationers.
Sharon’s next adventure started when she moved to the beautiful state of Idaho. There she lived on a large ranch and worked in private practice with a psychiatrist, a physicians assistant, nurses, social workers and psychosocial rehabilitation workers. She worked with the general population and had many, many different and interesting cases.
To help their clients, some Psychologists focus on testing and diagnosis. Sharon is different; her emphasis is on symptom reduction. Initially in her practice she administered many tests. She quickly realized that testing cost clients much time and money and it did not help them get well. Sharon has found that her clients are much happier and healthier when this time and money is spent working on symptom reduction. Many clients with depression, anxiety, anger, stress or pain find some symptom relief in the first session when working with Sharon’s counseling approach.
Sharon believes each client is unique and treatment should be tailor made to address each client’s individualized symptoms and needs. She has different treatment modalities that she draws on to develop individualized treatment for each client. Sharon also specializes in talk therapy and biofeedback. Sharon first started learning about biofeedback while studying at the University of Missouri. She has continued to attend the most cutting edge biofeedback trainings since she started specializing in biofeedback in 1995. Sharon has extensive training and experience in different biofeedback modalities.
Sharon received her Bachelors, Masters, and Educational Specialist degrees from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She was certified as a School Psychological Examiner in 1988. Sharon earned her Psychologist license in 1995. She was certified in 1997 in EEG Biofeedback by the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America. In 1999, while Sharon was living in Arizona, she was certified by the state as a Substance Abuse Counselor. In January 2001 Sharon was trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Sharon was trained as a screener for Scotopic Sensitivity/Irlen Syndrome in 2002. (Use
of diagnostic instruments, e.g. IRPS Screening Manual with colored overlays, to identify
and remediate perceptually-based learning and reading problems.) In 2006 she was
certified in Homeopathy by White Dove Healing Arts.
